“Swachha Mysore Swastha Jeevana” campaign blossoms in Vivekanandanagar
Mysuru, 15 th October: The 34 th week of the “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” campaign to enhance civic awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection was held in Vivekanandanagar on 15th October covering Vivekanandanagar 4 th Main, `G’ Block, Dattagalli `M’ Block, Nimishambanagar, `H’ Block & `L’ Block etc. Swami Shantivratanandaji Maharaj of Ramakrishna Institute of Moral & Spiritual Education, Mysuru, Sri D Madegowda, former MLC, Smt Seema Prasad local corporator and her husband Sri Prasad, Prof. K S Nagapathi participated in the inauguration of the campaign. Residents were requested to 1. Desist from throwing waste in public places, 2. Avoid using plastic bags, and 3.Take care of hygiene in surrounding public places.Ashrama volunteers, students from TTL college, JSS law college, Vijaya Chethana College, Govt First Grade College, Vivekanandanagar and local residents, in all 290 people participated in the cleaning and awareness campaign. A brochure on “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” was distributed to households in the locality.
