“Swachha Mysore Swastha Jeevana” campaign blossoms in Agrahara

The 36th week of the “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” campaign to enhance civic awareness about cleanliness and environmental protection was held in Agrahara on 5th November 2017  covering Cheluvamba Agrahara, Devamba Agrahara, Kempananjamba Agrahara, Banumaiah Road, Kashipathi Agarahara, B.B Laya, Tyagaraja Road, Ramanuja Road, Uttaradi Mutt Road and Shankar Mutt Road.

Sri Ramesh C. Jigajinagi, Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India, New Delhi inaugurated the 36th week campaign. Addressing the gathering he said, ‘Swaccha Bharath is in the hands of Public, each and every citizen should resolve to make the dream of Swaccha Bharath of Mahatma Gandhij and Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi a reality. He requested students to take part in the Swaccha Bharth Abhiyan. He reiterated the words of Shri Narendra Modi and said ‘toilets are houses of respect.’

Swami Atmajananandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama Mysuru, Niranjana Pranava Swaroopi Shri Chidananda Mahaswamiji of Hosamutt, Sri D Madegowda, former MLC, Sri S A Ramadas, former Minister of Medical Education, Sri M Shivanna, former Minister, Sri Yashaswini Somashekar, EX MUDA Chairman Sri L Nagendra, Sri H V Rajeev, President of District Co-operative Union, Sri B V Manjunath, local corporator, Sri M V Ramaprasad, Corporator and Prof. K S Nagapathi participated in the inauguration of the campaign.

Volunteers visited residents and requested them to 1. Desist from throwing waste in public places, 2. Avoid using plastic bags, and 3.Take care of hygiene in surrounding public places.

Ashrama volunteers, Sri H V Rajeev Sneha Balaga members, students from TTL college, JSS law college, Vijaya Chethana College, and local residents, in all      400 peoples participated in the cleaning and awareness campaign. A brochure on “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” was distributed to households in the locality.
