“Swachha Mysore Swastha Jeevana”  at Ramakrishnanagar, Mysuru

SMSJ40 (7)Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru organized the 40 th week of the “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” campaign in Ramakrishnanagar today. The stage program called `Dhanyata Samarambha’ was held at Ramakrishna circle.

Swami Atmajnanandaji Maharaj, Adhyaksha, Sri Ramakrishna Ashrama, Mysuru, Sri D Randeep, Deputy Commissioner, Mysuru district and Sri G Jagadeesh, Commissioner, Mysuru City Corporation, Sri M J Ravikumar, Mayor, Mysuru City Corporation, Sri D Madegowda, Ex MLC, Kum. Khushi, International Yoga Expert and Prof K S Nagapathi, Vice president of MCC Federation of Ward Parliament participated in the program. Sri M K Shankar, local corporator organized and co-ordinated the program.

Swamiji, chief guests and special invitees requested the audience to take the oath to keep Mysuru clean. All are requested to download the `Swachhata App’ and send the complaints about waste thrown in the public places.

The procession of students was held in the main streets of Ramakrishnanagar and brought about the awareness of cleanliness among public. This was the unique feature of today’s campaign.

Volunteers and students visited residents and requested them to 1. Desist from throwing waste in public places, 2. Avoid using plastic bags, and 3.Take care of hygiene in surrounding public places. They covered `I’ block, Vasu layout, Madhava park, E & F block, D V C layout and MUDA layout.

Ashrama volunteers, Students from TTL college, Govt First Grade College, Kuvempunagar, Vishwaprajna College, Vishwamanava high school, Kautilay Vidyalaya, Supreme Public school, Sukruta P U College, Raghavendra Gurukula and local residents, in all 800 people participated in the cleaning and awareness campaign. A brochure on “Swachha Mysuru Swastha Jeevana” was distributed to households in the locality.
